Mixing Mastering for Arianne Robinson

Read this first

Hi Arianne,

Sending your music to mixing and mastering is exciting! We’ve done the heavy lifting in terms of getting the songs completed, and now it’s time to get your music ready to be released.

Although my work on the audio itself has come to an end, I will be here to oversee the entire mixing and mastering process.

What You Get

Production focuses on song structure and arrangement, performance and parts, tones and sounds as well as the overall vibe and character. Post-production, which includes mixing and mastering, will ensure your tracks sound great everywhere.

POST-PRODUCTION

Mixing

The mixing engineer creates a balanced stereo mix with the vibe and character we’ve already started. Taking the individual tracks, the mixer balances the levels and use tools such as panning, EQ, compression, and additional reverb so there are no clashes, the important song elements are emphasized, and all the individual components all gel together.

Mastering

The mastering engineer takes the stereo mixdown and enhances sonic elements to ensure optimal playback quality across all systems and formats before distribution. Prior to mastering, you will need to finalize several items such as song names, album order (for EP/LPs), artist name(s), composer(s), and IRSC codes for each track.

The Process

STEP 1: PAYMENT

RECORDING ADMIN

Before sending your tracks off to mastering, you need to gather a bit of information.

  1. Song title(s)
  2. Album order (for EP/LPs)
  3. Artist name(s)
  4. Composer(s)
  5. Album title
  6. IRSC codes for each track.

IRSC CODES

IRSC codes are like digital fingerprints for your songs so any revenue from radio play, streaming, or sync will come directly to the composers and master rights holders.

The codes are free, but if you’ve never registered a song before, there may be a one-time registration fee.

If you’re making a CD, the codes are encoded onto the disk. If your release is digital only, the streaming platform or distributor will ask for your IRSC codes.

MASTERING INFO FORM

Once you have your IRSC codes, this form will guide you through the process. Double check everything and make absolutely sure it is accurate.
